Christopher Emerson on 'Resident Evil 6' and bringing Piers Nivans to life
Recently I got to speak with actor Christopher Emerson who plays Piers Nivans in RESIDENT EVIL 6. Aside from voicing the character, Christopher also provided the motion capture work and speaks to us about his experiences bringing the character to life.
What can you tell us about your character and what attracted you to the part?
Piers Nivans, the young sniper ace of the B.S.A.A., is a naturally gifted soldier, much like his fellow captain Chris Redfield. Due to his extreme sharpness and concentration, he is known as “the man who never misses a target”...
Capcom producer Yoshiaki Hirabayash reckons that a Resident Evil 2 remake is a possibility, but not currently a reality. Not yet anyway.
During a recent interview Hirabayash said, “If the fans really clamor for it; if there's a groundswell of support for remaking that game, then I think that's something Capcom would take under consideration."
Don’t get too excited though. Consideration is a long way from actually production. Hirabayash added, “Just to lay all the cards on the table, that way there's no rumour-mongering or things like that, no, we are not working on a Resident Evil 2 remake as of now."
So yeah, if you want a Resi Evil 2 remake start shouting at Capcom here, or on Capcom Unity, or on the street, or in a hedge outside Hirabayash’s house. Make your voice heard.
First Major Resident Evil 6 DLC Announced, Timed Xbox 360 Exclusive
Capcom has announced the first major post-launch DLC for Resident Evil 6 and it’s a timed Xbox 360 exclusive.
The add-on brings three new modes to the game; Predator, Survivors and Onslaught.
Capcom has announced the first major post-launch DLC for Resident Evil 6, which will include three new modes, exclusive for the Xbox 360.
Here’s the breakdown of each mode in Capcom’s words:
“Available for two to six players, in Predator one player takes on the role of the Ustanak, the fearsome B.O.W. that stalks Jake Muller throughout his campaign, and tries to eliminate the human players. The humans’ task: stop the deadly B.O.W. in its tracks, or at least survive until the end of the session.
“Survivors takes the classic solo and team-based versus mode and adds a twist. Get killed and respawn as an enemy character with the ability to attack the human characters. Take down one human character to resurrect in human form. Last man or team standing wins. Survivors can be played by two to six players.
“Onslaught sees two players go head-to-head in an attempt to clear waves of oncoming enemies. Chaining combos provides the key to success in Onslaught as this will send enemies over to the opponent’s screen, the more that are sent over, the quicker the victory will be."
The DLC will be available from December 19th. You can either buy each mode separately for 320MSP or all three in a pack for 720MP.
In addition to this, on December 17th Capcom will issue a free title update for the game.
The patch unlocks Ada Wong’s campaign and allows co-op play through her campaign. It also adds an extra-tough No Hope difficulty, increased subtitle support and a the option to widen the in-game camera
